On-campus Classes For Individuals

There truly is something for everyone through the non-credit Community Education Office. Anyone can register to take a non-credit class without being admitted to JSCC. You can look to us to provide:

  • Certificate Programs that lead to the skills needed to obtain a job in a few weeks to a few months
  • Continuing Education for professionals who require training to maintain professional licenses such as nurses.
  • Professional Skills Development such as computer training, management training, leadership classes, Spanish, etc.
  • Personal Enrichment may lead to a new hobby, a second language, or the accomplishment of some other personal goal.
  • Accelerated Child Enrichment and College Prep
  • Certificates of Completion are provided to all adult students who successfully achieve the class learning objectives and who attend at least 80 percent of the instructional hours.
Certificate Requests

Students who successfully complete a non-credit class are presented with a Certificate of Completion. Student records are maintained for five calendar years. If you completed a program within the past 5 years, you may request for one duplicate certificate to be mailed to you or to another party. You will need to include the following information in your request:

  • full name at the time you were enrolled in the class
  • the mailing address where you want the certificate sent to
  • your daytime phone number
  • social security number
  • date of birth
  • dates of attendance
  • name of the class
  • your signature

Your signature is the legal release for us to mail your certificate. Contact information is:

  • fax (205) 856-7782
  • Email workforcedev@jeffstateonline.com
  • Mail or come in person to the Jefferson Campus, George Wallace Hall, Room 202. Certificates will be mailed within seven business days.
