Child Development Program
Associate Credential - CDA
The Child Development Associate (CDA)
credential is nationally recognized credential
awarded by the Council for Professional
Recognition in Washington, D.C. This optional
program is intended to be a starting point for
education and professional recognition.
NOTE: The JSCC Child Development Program
provides the educational portion of this
credential utilizing three of the associate
degree program's courses to meet specific CDA
professional criteria.
The JSCC Child Development courses are:
- CHD 100 - Introduction to Early
Care
- CHD 204 - Materials and Methods for
Teaching
- CHD 206 - Children's Health and Safety

FYI - There is a $325.00 application fee
payable to the Council for Professional Recognition upon completion of the
educational component and other required assignments found in the Candidate's Booklet
(around $20) you order from the council.
