JSCC to Host “Autism in the College Classroom” Seminar

Sarah Keith - ADA Week 2019

Training and Development Specialist Sarah Keith will speak at JSCC’s Shelby-Hoover Campus on October 25.

As part of Jefferson State’s ADA Awareness Week, the college will host Sarah Keith for a faculty seminar on Friday, October 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Shelby-Hoover Campus in HSB 156.

Sarah Keith is a Training and Development Specialist and Autism Consultant in Birmingham. Keith studied Human Behavior at the University of Alabama, which sparked her career as a Behavior Therapist for children and teens on the Autism Spectrum. For many years, she worked directly under a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst in local schools to increase the success of students with disabilities in the classroom. She recently began consulting for teachers, employers, and families. She has worked with several companies to modify curriculum and spaces for individuals with disabilities. She also serves as a Training and Development Specialist at UAB Hospital where she develops and implements trainings for a neuro-diverse array of employees.
