Advice
For Distance Learners
Distance Learning students receive the same advising services that our
on-campus students receive. Many of your advising questions may be
answered by visiting the Online Advisor from our homepage
www.jeffstateonline.com.
However, we strongly encourage all students to speak with an advisor each
semester.
Advising is available via e-mail
advising@jeffstateonline.com
and telephone (1-800-239-5900, ext. 7775 (Jefferson), 5911 (Shelby) and 2712 (Pell City). (Note:
Although some information can only be released to students in person, many
of your questions and concerns can be addressed via email.)
Advisors can answer your questions about distance
learning courses and how they can fit your academic program. They can also
assist with information and procedures regarding admissions, registration
and course and degree requirements. Advisors can also provide additional
information on campus recourses and services.
Online courses require assignments, papers and exams. Distance
Learning is more convenient for students who cannot physically come to
campus for classes; however, these courses require as much study time and
effort as on-campus courses.
