A new partnership between Altec and Jefferson State will provide local students with financial assistance for tuition and books, a paid internship, and a career opportunity.

Each year the partnership will provide Jefferson State welding students with an opportunity to receive a paid 24-hour-per-week internship at Altec. Students can work as a welding intern while taking classes toward an Associate Degree in Applied Science. Classes are within Jefferson State’s Welding Technology AAS Degree Option.

Altec 4“The partnership with Altec not only helps students with their educational costs, but it provides a paid internship and equips them with real-world training for in-demand employment,” said Jefferson State Interim President Keith Brown. “This is an exciting opportunity that helps both Jefferson State students and the community.”
