On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, Sheriff Mark L. Pettway made history as the first African-American elected as Sheriff of Jefferson County. Sheriff Pettway says he never focused on making history but rather making a difference. Two of Sheriff Pettway’s values are the importance of consistent performance and responsible stewardship.

The Black History Committee invites you to celebrate Black History Month at Jefferson State with Sheriff Mark Pettway.

A brief question and answer session will follow Sheriff Pettway’s remarks.
