The Curious Savage

Our next Spotlight production is coming up and will be here sooner than you think! Mark your calendars NOW and come out to see The Curious Savage by John Patrick September 28-30 at CEPA.

The Curious Savage is a warm-hearted story of greed, family relationships, and the question of sanity. Ethel Savage, is a recent widow who has been left with a substantial fortune which her three grown children–a senator, a judge, and a gold-digging daughter – are intent on taking for themselves. They form a scheme to have her committed to a private mental hospital called “The Cloisters.” There, Mrs. Savage is left to work out how she will deal with her spiteful family, while getting to know the colorful characters who live in the facility and is run by a caring doctor and a sassy but loving nurse. The Curious Savage is a feel-good comedy that explores the neglected virtues of kindness and affection in a world that seems motivated at times by greed and dishonesty.

Audiences can expect to see a few familiar faces along with several new ones. Moody High School senior Ashley Arrington says “I’m so excited to be in this play. I’ve seen every Spotlight show at CEPA for the last two years, and I can’t believe I actually get to be in one. I love these people!”
