How Can Students Apply for a Loan

Students must first complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov and apply for Admissions to Jefferson State. Once the student has applied for Admissions and the FAFSA has been received, a letter will be mailed to the student regarding their Financial Aid. The letter contains instructions for the student to review the Financial Aid terms and conditions, request a student loan, and how to view/print any required documents. Once the student has submitted all required documentation and requested the student loan, the student will be awarded the loan as long as they are eligible. Please refer to the Federal Direct Loan Program section for additional information on loan eligibility requirements.

If you have already been awarded Pell grant funds and would like to request a student loan, follow the instructions in the Check My Status section to request a student loan. Once the loan has been requested, the student will be awarded the student loan as long as they are eligible. Please refer to the Federal Direct Loan Program section for additional information on loan eligibility requirements.
