Refund Policy/Deadlines

Note: Tuition and Fees are subject to change by the Board of Trustees for the Alabama Community College System.

Fall 2017

Refunds are based on the first official day for the term and are not based on the first class day for individual courses. After the Schedule Adjustment Period ends, students may receive a PARTIAL refund only if they COMPLETELY withdraw from ALL classes in which they are enrolled. Students completely withdrawing from the college must submit a complete withdrawal form to Enrollment Services or one of the off-campus sites; you cannot do a complete withdrawal on the web after the term has begun.     For any questions you may call the cashier’s office at (205) 856-7779.

Prorated Refund Schedule for Complete Withdrawal from Spring Regular Term, Session I and Session II are as follows.   The complete withdrawal from all courses following registration must be done by or before these dates.

Fall Regular Term: August 18, 2017 through December 15, 2017

  • Through August 17, 2017 100% Refund
  • Through August 24, 2017 75% Refund
  • Through August 31, 2017 50% Refund
  • Through September 7, 2017 25% Refund

Fall Session I: August 19, 2017 through October 11, 2017

  • Through August 17, 2017 100% Refund
  • Through August 21, 2017 75% Refund
  • Through August 25, 2017 50% Refund
  • Through August 29, 2017 25% Refund

**Schedule Adjustment for regular term and Session I is August 19-24, 2017

Fall Session II: October 14, 2017 through December 12, 2017

  • Through October 13, 2017 100% Refund
  • Through October 17, 2017 75% Refund
  • Through October 23, 2017 50% Refund
  • Through October 25, 2017 25% Refund

**Schedule Adjustment for Spring Session II is October 16-17, 2017

Septmber, 2017 is the last day to completely withdraw from all courses during the
regular session with a prorated refund.

Administrative Fee: An administrative fee not to exceed 5% shall be accessed for complete withdrawal.

Refund for partial withdrawal: During schedule adjustment when dropping and adding of individual courses are allowed, students may drop a course and receive a full refund for that course and its related fees only. There will be no refund to a student who partially withdraws after schedule adjustment has ended.


Summer 2017

Prorated Refund Schedule For Complete Withdrawal From Summer Mini-Term:

  • 100% of adjusted tuition & fees – Complete withdrawal from all courses following registration but on or before May 9, 2017
  • 50% of adjusted tuition & fees – Complete withdrawal from all courses following registration but on or before May 10, 2017
  • *There will be NO REFUND for withdrawal from the Summer Mini Term after 12:00 noon on May 10, 2017.

Prorated Refund Schedule For Complete Withdrawal From Regular Summer Term:

  • 100% of adjusted tuition & fees – Complete withdrawal from all courses following registration but on or before May 23, 2017
  • 75% of adjusted tuition & fees – Complete withdrawal from all courses following registration but on or before May 30, 2017
  • 50% of adjusted tuition & fees – Complete withdrawal from all courses following registration but on or before June 2, 2017
  • 25% of adjusted tuition & fees – Complete withdrawal from all courses following registration but on or before June 7, 2017
  • Last day to completely withdraw from all courses during the summer regular  term with a prorated refund – June 7, 2017
  • *Refunds are not given for partial withdrawals after the schedule adjustment period has ended. The last day for schedule adjustment regular summer term is May 31, 2017.

  • 100% of adjusted tuition & fees – Complete withdrawal from all courses following registration but on or before May 23, 2017
  • 75% of adjusted tuition & fees – Complete withdrawal from all courses following registration but on or before May 30, 2017
  • 50% of adjusted tuition & fees – Complete withdrawal from all courses following registration but on or before May 31, 2017
  • 25% of adjusted tuition & fees – Complete withdrawal from all courses following registration but on or before June 5, 2017
  • Last day to completely withdraw from all courses during the summer term session I with a prorated refund – June 5, 2017

**Schedule Adjustment for regular term and Session I is January 6 through 11, 2017

Spring Session II: March 4, 2017 through May 5, 2017

  • Through March 3, 2017 100% Refund
  • Through March 7, 2017 75% Refund
  • Through March 13, 2017 50% Refund
  • Through March 15, 2017 25% Refund

**Schedule Adjustment for Spring Session II is March 6-7, 2017

January 26, 2017 is the last day to completely withdraw from all courses during the
