Interior Design ProgramJefferson State offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Interior Design. A graduate can either enter the workforce immediately, or transfer to a 4-year institution for a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. Students can complete this degree in 2 years. The Alabama State Board of Registration for Interior Design granted FIDER-equivalency to Jeff State’s Interior Design Program beginning February 2005 through 2011. After graduation, beginning designers need to work for four years as an apprentice or assistant to an experienced interior designer before being able to sit for the NCIDQ exam and becoming licensed in the state of Alabama.
