Sloan Boo Harmon 2 combined - JSCC student killed Nov 2019Jefferson State Friends and Family,

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the death of Jefferson State freshman Sloan Harmon.

Harmon was a full-time business student taking online courses while seeking his associate degree. Harmon, lovingly referred to as “Boo” because of his Halloween birthday, was the son of Shelly Harmon and veteran prosecutor Lyle Harmon.

The death of a student affects the entire Jefferson State family and we extend our deepest condolences to Sloan’s parents, family and friends. I ask that every member of our campus community join me in keeping Sloan’s family in our thoughts and prayers.

For those needing counseling and support, Jefferson State offers services to all students and employees at (205) 933-7442 or www.jeffersonstate.edu/jeffcare.

Sincerely,
Keith Brown, President
