Be encouraged!  Take your cue from some adults who enrolled at Jefferson State:

Read how Kathy & Paul Rowell overcame obstacles to enter Jefferson State.

Kathey and Paul Rowell are handling lots of responsibilities providing for their family and working toward fulfilling their dreams.  Kathey plans a career in math and Paul plans a career in computers.  They have been married 11 years and have three young children, ages 7 years, 2 years, and 11 months.  Kathey has worked at Taco Bell for 15 years.  She first enrolled at Jefferson State in fall, 1998.  Although she had to drop out due to Paul’s health problems, she is re-enrolled and taking two classes.  Paul served in the Navy and worked as a retail manager and free lance photographer.  Four years ago he began experiencing complications from his diabetes.  The complications resulted first in a kidney transplant.  Paul’s mother donated one of her kidneys to him.  He credits her with giving him life two times.  He appreciates her “old” kidney.  He was 33 years old when his mother at age 66 gave him one of her kidneys.  Between November 1999 and April 2000, both of Paul’s legs had to be amputated. Paul says, “The first few months after my surgery were pretty tough”.  Four months later, Paul moved forward with his life – he enrolled in two classes at Jefferson State.  Paul says, “Attending Jefferson State has given me the opportunity to be around adults.  I was tired of watching Barney!”
