Publix Jobs

Locally Contact: Nick Collins (770) 952-6601 ext 31691 or Chef Joseph Mitchell (205) 983-5212 for more information.

So you’d like to work in one of the hourly positions in our stores, but you’re not sure what options you have. First, take a look at the job description chart to familiarize yourself with more than 15 different choices. Then check out the Store Locator to determine the Publix store where you would most like to work. When you’ve decided which positions interest you and which Publix is the most convenient, check out our Critical Openings. These are only a sample of the openings in our stores, but they are the ones we are working hardest to fill immediately. Armed with that information, go to the store of your choice and look for the Job Application Center. The JAC, as we call it, is a kiosk usually located at the front of the store.

You must apply in person to be considered for any non-management position in our stores. The JAC allows you to apply for as many positions as you want, regardless of whether there is an opening at the store where you apply. That’s because managers at nearby Publix stores — where there may be openings — can view your application. Therefore, you don’t need to submit an application at any other Publix.

Once you’ve finished applying, stop by the Customer Service desk to ask for a manager and briefly share why you would make a great Publix associate.

Why We Want You to Apply in Person

We ask people who want to work in our stores to apply in person, at a store, for three reasons.

  • We want job seekers to have the opportunity to speak with a person if they have questions about working at Publix or about our application process.
  • We prefer that job seekers experience the environment in our stores before deciding whether Publix is a good fit for them and whether they are a good fit for us.
  • We want to know if someone is nearby and ready to work.

Birmingham EATS

This is a new and unique opportunity to become the first chef at our new company called Birmingham EATS. We started this company in January of 2017 with the mission of helping busy families avoid eating dinner at the drive through. We wanted parents to offer their children, and themselves, healthy-delicious options that were not loaded down in fats and oils. In our business model, we take orders during the week through Thursday evening. We buy everything fresh on Saturday, cook everything on Sunday, and deliver on Monday. Although only a few months old, we are growing rapidly, and now we need some help. At a minimum, we are looking for a part time chef to work approximately 8 hours over the course of Saturday and Sunday to handle our weekly cook. For the individual who is looking for a unique career opportunity, we are looking for someone with interest in a full-time role that would additionally encompass menu planning, and more creative control over several elements of our enterprise. In addition to a salary, we would consider offering the candidate an equity position in our company. As we grow, the candidate will see an excellent chance to earn potentially significant long-term value. We have plans for expansion into several other markets in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia. We believe this is an amazing and unique ground floor opportunity. Contact: Rick.Claypoole    205.381.7698 http://www.bhameats.biz
