The Jefferson State Speech Team competed in the University of West Florida Speech and Debate Tournament January 23-25. 2015.
Team members TaShara Caldwell, Amber Pope and Kiara Sanford brought home the 3rd place Team Quality Award for their efforts.
In addition, Amber Pope won 3rd place in Program Oral Interpretation while Kiara Sanford won 1st place in both Program Oral Interpretation and Impromptu Speaking, 3rd place in Extemporaneous Speaking and 4th place in Poetry. Sanford also won 3rd place in pentathlon, making her the 3rd highest individual point winner at the tournament.
