The Jefferson State family and volunteers recently participated in the 2022 AL PALS, People Against A Littered State “Don’t Drop It On Alabama” Statewide Spring Cleanup!
Jefferson State and the Alabama Community College Systems has partnered with Alabama People Against A Littered State (ALPALS), a statewide organization dedicated to making Alabama more beautiful, to focus on cleaning up litter in our streets, streams, campuses, and coastlines. Jefferson State students, faculty, and staff volunteered to participate in the three clean-up projects below:
Chilton-Clanton Campus
Participants picked up trash at the Clanton ballpark beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 21. Recycle bins are being used in the college’s main lobby.
St. Clair-Pell City Campus
Participants met at Jefferson State’s St. Clair-Pell City Campus at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 21 to pick up trash around the campus and parking lot, along Veteran’s Parkway, at Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Clair, and the veterans’ home. Recycle bins are also being used in the college’s main lobby.
Jefferson/Shelby Campuses
Back by popular demand, Jefferson State partnered with the Cahaba River Society to clean up the Cahaba River. Representatives from the Cahaba River Society guided our volunteers along the river.
