Application Process

Verification

If your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is selected for review in a process called verification, we may ask you to confirm the information you reported on the FAFSA. If a student is selected for verification, in addition to other documents, the following tax documents might be requested:

2020-2021 School Year

Independent Student 2018 Student Tax Return

2018 Spouse Tax Return – if married

Dependent Student 2018 Student Tax Return

2018 Parents Tax Return

2021-2022 School Year

Independent Student 2019 Student Tax Return

2019 Spouse Tax Return – if married

Dependent Student 2019 Student Tax Return

2019 Parents Tax Return

To verify that you provided correct information, the Financial Aid Office will compare your FAFSA with the tax information and with any other requested documents.  If there are differences, your FAFSA information may be corrected. Please be advised that missing documentation and/or unanswered questions will lengthen this process and delay receipt of federal aid funds.
