The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham In-Demand IT Job Training Grant Fund will provide financial assistance to unemployed, low-income, and/or low-skilled adults, with a focus on women and minorities, who have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis and require specialized assistance to enroll and complete IT training and enter into the labor force. Funding will be used for students enrolled in IT programs, such as Cybersecurity, Computer Technician/ CompTia A+, Full-Stack Web Development, IT Help Desk, Python and Data Analytics.
Awards will be made to at-risk students for registration fees and/or stipends such as books, fees, childcare, housing, transportation, gas, and other living expenses. The grant will be awarded based on financial need and award amounts vary based on need up to $2,000. Funds may be used for purposes such as registration fees, books, testing fees, food, housing, technology, health care, childcare, and other basic needs. A committee will review all applications. Grants are non-renewable.
