Participate in the 2026 Spring Cleanup at Oak Mountain State Park

Come join your Jeff State Family and the Cahaba River Coalition on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, for an Earth Week cleanup around Double Oak Lake at Oak Mountain State Park!Six young people in purple Find Your Place shirts stand outdoors, holding green trash bags and litter pickers, participating in a park clean-up. A sign behind them reads, Help Keep Our Parks and Rivers Clean!.

Volunteers will meet at the Lakeside Pavilion (200 Terrace Dr, Pelham, AL 35124) at the south end of Double Oak Lake for check-in, a brief welcome, and basic cleanup gear (gloves, bags, grabbers) before hitting the trail to collect litter. After that, we’ll hand out cleanup gear and head out around the lake to start collecting litter.  Volunteers will walk portions of the Double Oak Lake Loop Trail. Everyone is welcome to go as far or as short as they’d like along the trail—there will be plenty of litter to pick up along the way. Cahaba River Coalition will provide grabbers, bags, and gloves.

Around noon, volunteers will return to the Lakeside Pavilion to sort recyclables and weigh collected litter before departing at 1:00 PM.
