JSCC golf teams excel in conference tournaments
Jefferson State’s Men’s and Women’s Golf teams will compete in District Championships at Cider Ridge Golf Club in Oxford, following up on strong showings at their Alabama Community College Conference tournaments.
The women’s team finished second at the ACCC Championship hosted by Coastal Alabama Community College North at Juniper Creek in Brewton.
Eden Pendleton finished tied for fourth place overall individually, and Rebecca Pearce was seventh overall. Pendleton and Pearce were named to both the all-tournament & all-conference teams.
Lea Green was named ACCC Women’s Coach of the Year.
The JSCC Men’s team finished third at the ACCC Championship hosted by Northwest Shoals Community College at Cypress Lakes in Muscle Shoals.
Taylor Chambers (third overall), Caleb Terrell (tied for seventh) were named to the all-tournament team. Mason Jones (tied for 10th) was named to the all-conference team.
The men’s district tournament will be held April 18-21, and the women’s district tournament will be held April 21-23. District results will determine whether the teams advance to the NJCAA National Championships in mid-May.
