The Pioneer Pantry hosted two food pantry distributions on Thursday, October 8th and Saturday, October 10th. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on both days, pre-packaged food bags were available for pickup in front of the Fitzgerald Student Center on the Jefferson Campus.
First-time customers who have not received food bags before registered in advance to pick up food bags by clicking this link: https://forms.gle/ogg4vQ4JyqeweCrVA. Existing Pioneer Pantry customers who have received food bags at past distributions did not need to register again; they simply contacted Maddison MeGahee by text (205-234-4032) or email (email@example.com) to tell her whether they will pick up their food bags on Thursday Oct. 8th or Saturday Oct. 10th. As always, the number of people in a customer’s household determined the number of food bags he or she were eligible to receive.
All Pioneer Pantry customers wore face coverings and remained inside their vehicles during the actual distribution; volunteers wearing masks and gloves passed food bags through car windows or place them in the back seats or trunks of customers’ vehicles.
