Speech Team Wins 2nd in Louisiana Tournament

Jefferson State Speech Team members win big during the Bossier Parish Tournament in Louisiana. Pictured are team members (L to R) Jacob Humphries, Rich Quarles, Jacob Good, Atiyah Muhammad, and Hannah King.

The Jefferson State Speech Team competed against nine colleges and universities in the Bossier Parish Individual Event Tournament in Bossier City, Louisiana.  The team won 2nd Place in Overall Team Sweepstakes.

In addition, the following students won individual awards:
2nd place Duo – Hannah King and Jacob Good
1st place Communication Analysis – Hannah King
2nd place After Dinner Speaking  – Atiyah Muhammad
5th place Prose – Jacob Humphries
4th place Prose – Rich Quarles
5th place Poetry -Atiyah Muhammad
6th place Poetry – Jacob Good
4th place Dramatic Interpretation   – Hannah King
5th place Dramatic Interpretation – Jacob Humphries
6th place Dramatic Interpretation- Rich Quarles
1st place Program Oral Interpretation – Jacob Good
5th place Program Oral Interpretation – Atiyah Muhammad
5th place Impromptu Speaking – Jacob Humphries
1st place Individual Sweepstakes – Hannah King
2nd place Individual Sweepstakes – Jacob Good
3rd place Individual Sweepstakes – Atiyah Muhammad
