Two Construction Students Earn AGC Scholarships

Construction Students earn AGC scholarhips 2023Jefferson State Building Science Technology Students Larry Rivers and Jacob Lovvorn recently earned The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Scholarship for 2022-2023. Each year AGC of Alabama awards this scholarship to only two students from Construction or Civil Engineering Programs Statewide.

Jefferson State students have been awarded this scholarship five out of the past seven years.

“We are extremely proud of our students for earning this prestigious honor,” said Jefferson State Construction and Building Science Technology Program Coordinator Mike Safavi. “Both Mr. Rivers and Mr. Lovvorn have worked hard in the program and we are excited for their future.”

Jefferson State’s Construction and Building Science Technology Program offers certificate and associate degree in construction management. The program covers the building process from conceptual design to the final completion of the structure. Students learn drafting and scheduling software, estimating as well as practical skills used in all construction settings.

The Construction Management Technology Option of the Construction and Building Science Technology Program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).
