We are excited to announce the kick-off for the 2023-2024 High School Culinary Explorers is September 12, 2023. We will start at 4:30 PM in the Judy Merritt Building on the Shelby Campus, Room 101. (4600 Valleydale Road, Birmingham, AL 35242) Opening Night will include Information/Registration (including an enrollment fee of $35), Culinary Lab Tour, Program Review, and an opportunity to ask questions. We look forward to seeing you then!
Seniors interested in a JSCC Culinary Explorer scholarship MUST submit a completed application to our office Manager, Missie DeLoach, at [email protected] by March 12, 2024. Complete applications must include:
- Application (link available above in the list of resources and on the JSCC Culinary Explorer Facebook page, and will be directly emailed to each Explorer by January 1st)
- 1 Letter of Recommendation from school counselor or teacher, etc.
- 2-page Typed Essay on why you want to attend JSCC and your future academic and career goals.
The scholarship is awarded based on eligibility and overall points for the year. *Failure to turn this in by deadline will void your eligibility for the Culinary Explorer Scholarship. * This scholarship is intended for the CHI program and is worth up to $12,000, and will cover tuition and fees only (books or supplies not included).
