Featured Speakers:
Berritt Haynes, Singer/Songwriter
Raised in the close-knit community of Pell City, Alabama, is the oldest among four siblings. Music has been a constant presence in his life since childhood, as he’d sing his heart out during church choir practice, choosing it over the nursery. At the age of 8, he embarked on his musical journey by taking up guitar lessons, and by 14, he had formed the band “Taylor Made” with fellow music school students. During his teenage years, Berritt’s musical involvement extended to leading worship at church, and he even earned the title of “Most Talented Male” in his high school senior class. However, a diagnosis of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), a severe heart condition, altered his path, ending his sports pursuits but not his musical dreams. Despite facing life-changing open-heart surgery, he remained committed to inspiring others through his music, guided by his unshakable faith and belief in God’s greater plans. This unwavering determination led him to audition for “The Voice,” where he overcame challenges, progressing through the show. His pediatrician’s support reinforced his belief that sharing his story through music can positively impact others. Today, Berritt continues his musical journey, performing in various states, dedicated to his local church’s praise team, and striving to inspire those who, like him, face heart conditions.
