Miles To Margaritas 5K
The Miles To Margaritas 5K taking place at Regions Field next Saturday, May 5th is in desperate need of volunteers. Our main group of volunteers informed us yesterday that they have to back out, and our charity partner (The Arthritis Foundation) has had difficulty recruiting. A 5K race relies on volunteers to help provide and safe and fun environment for the runners and walkers. We are in need of 15-20 volunteers from 6:30am-10:30am. We can make it work with 12, but always recruit more to account for no-shows. Volunteers are needed to help as course marshals, give out finisher’s medals,  give out t-shirts and race numbers, etc. Our crew does all the physical labor of setting up and breaking down. (Of course, we would never turn down help if that interests anyone!) To sweeten the pot, we are willing to actually pay for this volunteerism! We are happy to offer $75 to each volunteer working the 4-hour shift. As the name implies, this 5K is all about the fun, with a margarita (or 2) at the finish line to celebrate running or walking 3.1 miles. The route will take the runners around the neighborhood and around the bases at Regions Field, with the finish line by home plate. There’s a fun post-race fiesta to round out the morning. The volunteers will have just as much fun as the runners and walkers, and will be greatly appreciated by our staff, race owners with Go Run Productions, and our participants.
