Application Process

Verification

If your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is selected for review in a process called verification, we may ask you to confirm the information you reported on the FAFSA. If a student is selected for verification, in addition to other documents, the following tax documents might be requested:

 2017-2018 School Year
Independent Student 2015 Student Tax Return Transcript
2015 Spouse Tax Return Transcript if married
Dependent Student 2015 Student Tax Return Transcript
2015 Parents Tax Return Transcript
 2018-2019 School Year
Independent Student 2016 Student Tax Return Transcript
2016 Spouse Tax Return Transcript if married
Dependent Student 2016 Student Tax Return Transcript
2016 Parents Tax Return Transcript

To verify that you provided correct information, the Financial Aid Office will compare your FAFSA with the tax information and with any other requested documents. If there are differences, your FAFSA information may be corrected. Please be advised that missing documentation and/or unanswered questions will lengthen this process and delay receipt of federal aid funds.
