The Jefferson State Speech and Debate Team won the first place Community College Sweepstakes at the Middle Tennessee State University Speech and Debate tournament on October 26-28.
Atiyah Muhammad won 1st place in Prose Interpretation, 5th place in Extemporaneous Speaking and 4th place in Dramatic Interpretation. Jason Alder took home 6th place in Extemporaneous Speaking.
The team will compete in The University of West Florida Speech Tournament in Pensacola for their next tournament on November 1-3.
