BIRMINGHAM – The latest graduates of Jefferson State’s Lineworker Training program were recognized at a ceremony on Monday, Aug. 16, at the college’s Jefferson Campus.
The nine-week fast-track program is offered in partnership with Alabama Power and other utility services.

The program teaches lineworker skills, OSHA 10 safety, Commercial Drivers License requirements and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
“You are now part of the Jeff State family,” Associate Dean of Economic Development Guin Robinson said at the graduation certificate ceremony. “You have a great future ahead of you. The best is yet to come.”
Funding for the lineworker program was provided by the Appalachian Regional Commission.
Applications are being accepted through Sept. 1 for 2022 lineworker classes. Accepted applicants will be invited to an interview and assessment day in October.
