2020 Commencement Ceremony Postponed

To protect the health and well-being of students and the community, Jefferson State will postpone the 2020 Commencement Ceremony due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

This has been a difficult decision since the ceremony represents the culmination of so much hard work, sacrifice, and growth. However, our highest priority is the safety of our students and our community, and, to that end, the decision was unavoidable.

The event was originally scheduled for May 1st, at the Alabama Theatre in downtown Birmingham.

Jefferson State is considering various plans for celebrating our graduates’ tremendous achievements. Tentative alternate plans may include a virtual (online) ceremony and/or a rescheduled in-person ceremony. The college is monitoring the situation closely and will provide additional details as soon as a determination has been made.

Please be sure to regularly check your Jefferson State email or the college’s COVID-19 website for future guidance.
