Emergency Grant Assistance

The Student Success Center provides one-time financial assistance to students who are in good standing that are facing economic hardship and immediate monetary need. Funds may be used for purposes such as temporary loss of job or income, food and transportation needs, disconnect notices for utility bills, and loss of childcare.

Proper supporting documentation must be submitted before application is reviewed and applicants must complete financial literacy course to be considered. A student is not guaranteed any award based on applying.

Career Closet

Career Closet
Through a generous partnership with the Texas Diaper Bank, PAC’s Career Closet located in the SHARE Center is open for all to shop. Due to limited supply, participants are eligible to select up to five items a month. This service is available to all students, faculty, and staff.
Diaper Program
The Palo Alto College Diaper Program provides a month’s supply of free diapers and wipes to currently enrolled students that are parents. The Diaper Program is available through a partnership with the Texas Diaper Bank. To learn more, visit the SHARE Center portal of AlamoEXPERIENCE.

Communities in Schools partners with Palo Alto College to help students navigate and re-engage in school throughout the year. We help students access resources such as technology, school supplies, emotional support, basic needs, and more. Employee Assistance Services for Students (EAS)

Jefferson State students qualify to receive confidential counseling services and can receive up to seven free counseling sessions. Counseling can be provided face-to-face, via telehealth, or via telephone.

Students can receive free counseling with:

  • Anxiety or Depression
  • Relationship Problems
  • Substance Abuse Issues
  • Sexual Abuse (ongoing or distant past)
  •  Trauma
  •  And many other issues

Food Assistance

Students may walk-in and access the Campus Food Pantry twice a month, M-F from 8 am-4:30 pm. We ask that students fill out a one-time demographic information sheet during their first visit to the Campus Food Pantry.

New Campus Food Pantry Users

Contact [email protected] or call (205) 856-6039 to schedule an appointment or drop by the Student Success Center in Lurleen Wallace Hall when the Food Pantry is open.

Monthly Food Distribution Days

JSCC students and community members may pick up fresh and non-perishable food items at the Jefferson campus on the second to last Friday of each month. Students and community members may register through a link and QR code that is distributed via email and across Jeff State’s social media platforms each month. Slots for food distribution are first-come, first-served.
