Fall 2021 English and Math Course Placement Criteria


Placement into English and Math Courses

If you are registering for dual enrollment English and/or math courses, you must meet the appropriate placement criteria. Placement into these courses is based on one of the following:

  • ACT sub score
  • A combination of ACT sub score and grade in a specific high school course (used only for math placement)
  • Accuplacer score (The Accuplacer is being administered online. If you have not taken the ACT, you should register early for the Accuplacer.)

 Fall 2021 English and Math Course Placement Criteria

ENG 101 English Composition 1 18 English sub score
MTH 100 Intermediate Algebra or MTH 110 Finite Mathematics 18 Math sub score
MTH 112 Precalculus Algebra ACT Math sub score of 20 or higher AND “C” or higher in high school Algebra 2 or Precalculus or Calculus OR 24-25 Math sub score
MTH 113 Precalculus Trigonometry ACT Math sub score of 20 or higher AND “C” or higher in high school Precalculus or Calculus OR 26 Math sub score
MTH 125 Calculus 1 ACT Math sub score of 20 or higher AND “C” or higher in high school Precalculus or Calculus OR 27 Math sub score
