Course Placement & Prerequisite Requirements

Course PLACEMENT Requirements

Some classes require an English or Math placement score. English, Math, and Chemistry are the most common classes taken by dual enrollment students that require placement.

Options for meeting placement requirements:

  • ACTTest Scores
  • ACCUPLACER Test Scores (offered through the Testing Center for students who have completed a Jefferson State admission application and received their A-number)

Course PREREQUISITE Requirements

Some courses have a course prerequisite. Most students take the course prerequisite at Jefferson State.

Students can also meet a course prerequisite requirement through:

**Dual Enrollment students are NOT eligible to take the following courses

  • Any course numbered below 100 (including corequisite courses such as MTH 100 & MTH 099 and ENG 101 & ENG 099)
  • PED courses (other than PED 224)
  • HUM courses (other than HUM 298M)
