Jefferson State’s Center for Workforce Education offers a CDL program and CDL Corporate Simulator Training program. This training provides the skills for immediate employment in an in-demand career field.

CDL Truck Driving Course Application – Jefferson State Community College

CDL Requirements and Essential Job Functions Include:

The CDL program at Jefferson State will take place at our Chilton-Clanton campus. It is an 6 week long program from 7am-4pm each day Mon – Thurs.

Course Fee:  $3,500  **This does not include costs of CDL road testing, books or other materials that may be required to successfully complete this class.**

 CDL REQUIREMENTS
(Please note that if you do not upload all the required documents at time of application, your application will be considered incomplete.)

  1. Must be 18 years or older with a current Alabama Driver’s License at least a year
  2. High School Diploma or GED
  3. Social Security Card
  4. Read and speak English
  5. DOT Physical long form with DOT Drug Screening (within last 30 days)
  6. DOT Medical Card (within last 30 days)
  7. CDL Class A Permit Prior to Class
  8. MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) (within last 30 days)
  9. 100% Attendance – Class takes place at our Chilton-Clanton campus of Jefferson State. Please see link for direct location and map. Directions to Chilton-Clanton

Classes are 7am-4pm, Monday through Thursday most weeks. This is a full time program at the Chilton- Clanton campus of Jefferson State Community College. The class is in person. Some classes may be held in the evening. 100% attendance is required. Will you be able to attend class at this location during these dates and times?(Required)

The ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required. There are some medical conditions and driving record charges that would prevent an individual from obtaining a CDL. (Please reference the Driver’s License section of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s website for related information for answering this question). Based on your review of the website information, to your knowledge, would you be able to obtain a CDL during the program?(Required)
