Jefferson State Student Celeste Montgomery was crowned Miss Jefferson State 2017 on September 17. Shelby Truitt (R) was crowned Miss Jefferson State Outstanding Teen.
Jefferson State Community College Student Celeste Montgomery was crowned Miss Jefferson State 2017 by Jefferson State Interim President Keith Brown and Miss Jefferson State 2016 Hannah Tierce on September 17 at the Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center.
Montgomery, a resident of Verbena and a dual enrollment student at Verbena High School, earned top honors based on points accumulated during her interview, on-stage question, talent, evening wear, and lifestyle/fitness.
Shelby Truitt, a Leeds High School student, was crowned Miss Jefferson State Outstanding Teen.
Both Montgomery and Truitt will receive a full scholarship to attend Jefferson State for one year.
As winner of Miss Jefferson State, Montgomery will compete in Miss Alabama at Samford University during the first week of June. Truitt will compete in Miss Outstanding Teen on March 4 and 5.
Both winners will represent Jefferson State at various events throughout the year.
