That’s right! The Sigma Chi Eta Communication Honors Society is looking for new officers this fall!
Membership Requirements
- Must Have Completed 12 hours at Jefferson State with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must have completed 6 hours in communication-related courses (SPH, MCM, THR, ENG 101, ENG 102, HUM 298, PSY 200, SOC 200, BUS 215) with a 3.25 in those classes
- You do NOT have to be a communication major to join.
- Applications available on 2nd floor of GSB, BDH 219, and also at St. Clair-Pell City and Chilton-Clanton Campuses — APPLICATIONS DUE TO CONNIE CASKEY BY JULY 18TH
- If you do not yet qualify for membership, please watch for Comm Club events and join us for some fun educational activities!
Officer Positions Available*
- President: Presides over official chapter events, recruits for chapter, directs and assists other officers as necessary, participates in official Jeff State functions such as Get on Board Days and New Student Orientation
- VP of Communications: Assists the president, advertises the chapter via bulletin boards, flyers, Facebook and other social media outlets, participates in official Jeff State functions such as Get on Board Days and New Student Orientation
- VP of Service: Assists the president, plans and supervises community service events and activities, participates in official Jeff State functions such as Get on Board Days and New Student Orientation
- Secretary/Treasurer: Assists the president, takes notes at meetings, helps plan spending for events and functions, participates in official Jeff State functions such as Get on Board Days and New Student Orientation
*Requires average of 5 hours per week work commitment in exchange for a tuition waiver scholarship
