Jefferson State accepts the highest English or math placement score a student can provide. Scores must be less than 5 years old. If you cannot register for the math or English course you need for your degree based on your ACT scores or your high school transcript then you should take the ACCUPLACER test. Your first ACCUPLACER test is FREE and you have nothing to lose. Visit our Testing Center page to learn more about ACCUPLACER.

After submitting, confirm both courses show up as “Registered” in your schedule.
-
- If the system blocks you even when adding both classes, there may be a timing conflict or section restriction—try different sections or contact an academic advisor.
- If you’re not eligible (haven’t met the prerequisites), you may receive an error message like: “Prerequisite not met for this course.”
-
If you believe you qualify (e.g., via transfer credit, test scores, or advisor approval), you may need to contact your advisor.
