JSCC Debate Team Completes Successful Fall Season

UA Team PicThe Jefferson State Debate Team had a successful fall season, in both virtual and in-person tournaments.

At the Crimson Classic, hosted by The University of Alabama, the team won Top Community College as well as 3rd place Overall Debate Team. In addition, Jacob Davidson was ranked as the 2nd Place Varsity Speaker.

At Middle Tennessee State University, the team won 2nd Place Community College and novice members Abigail Wright and Zach May made it into elimination rounds. Abigail Wright also won 1st Place Novice Speaker.

Jacob Davidson competed at the University of Louisiana at Shreveport in November and won 4th place overall in Varsity Debate.

The JSCC Debate team finished fall competition by participating in the Jimmie Jingle tournament in December, hosted by The University of Jamestown. At this virtual tournament, Jacob Davidson won 4th place Varsity Speaker and Assistant Coach, Jacob Humphries, won 1st Place in the Professional Division.
