Eleven Jefferson State employees were recognized for completing the college’s Leadership Academy class at a ceremony on Friday, April 29, in the Fitzgerald Student Center on the Jefferson Campus.
The Academy graduates presented a proposal for an employee orientation experience before receiving plaques honoring their accomplishment.
“We view this as an aspect of new employee orientation, although it would be helpful to all members of the Jeff State family…students, parents and employees would all benefit from better communication,” read the class’s presentation.
President Keith Brown thanked the group for their insight. “We want your feedback; we want your continuous involvement,” he said.
After a kickoff event in October 2021, the Leadership Academy class met once a month, touring all four of the college’s campuses while learning about topics including student support, adult education, workforce training, leadership styles, and the Alabama Community College System.
