Panel: Speakers offer individual points of view for a presentation of 10-12 minutes. They are later grouped with others discussing similar topics. Panels are hosted by a volunteer moderator. Individual presentations will be recorded ahead of time and hosted on the Pioneer Con website.

Lecture: (Reserved for faculty or off-campus professionals). Presentation will be 45-60 minutes. Event planners will reach out to discuss whether presentation will be live via Zoom or pre-recorded.

Presentations may address one of the following—or a topic that you propose:
– Witch / Wizard History
– Horror Fiction
– Weird Fiction
– Alchemy or Science
– Anime
– SF/Fantasy Video Games
– Holographic or AI Technology
– Horror, SF, Fantasy, or Weird Cinema

Presenters receive a free t-shirt. Although SKD is the English honor society, we welcome proposals from any discipline.

To make a proposal, submit a 100-200-word description of your planned presentation. Tell us as much as possible about what you want to cover and whether you are an individual or a group. If you plan to have more than one presenter, provide the name of each participant. Up to five people may participate as presenters in a session.

Submit your proposal by 12 noon on Wednesday, September 23 through the JSCC Library website: https://library.jeffersonstate.edu/WingspanPioneerCon. We’ll make final decisions and inform selected participants through email by September 25. The final text of the presentation must be complete by the event date. Video presentations should be submitted by October 2. For other details, see jsccpioneercon.wixsite.com/home.
