On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, Sheriff Mark L. Pettway made history as the first African-American elected as Sheriff of Jefferson County. Sheriff Pettway says he never focused on making history but rather making a difference. Two of Sheriff Pettway’s values are the importance of consistent performance and responsible stewardship.
Celebrate Black History Month at Jefferson State with Sheriff Mark Pettway and other program participants.
