Speech Team Competes in National Tournament

Speech Team Wins Awards April 2016The Jefferson State Speech Team competed with 63 other colleges at the Phi Rho Pi National Forensics Tournament in Costa Mesa, CA, April 2-10. Team members Ford Brown, Stephen Walley, Katy Johnson, Victoria Cruz and Christian Holt were among 450 students competing in drama, public speaking and debate events.   Katy Johnson was a Bronze winner in Speech to Entertain and Program Oral Interpretation. Victoria Cruz won Gold in Dramatic Interpretation and Bronze in Prose Interpretation. In addition, Director of Forensics Dr. Janice Ralya received the Collie-Taylor Fellowship Award for Coaches.
