The Jefferson State Speech Team earned top honors at the Bossier Parish Community College Speech Tournament in Louisiana on February 19 by winning 1st place in Team Sweepstakes.
In addition to the first place team honors, each Jefferson State team member also earned individual awards.
Katy Johnson won 1st place in Program Oral Interpretation, After Dinner Speaking, Duo Interpretation with Victoria Cruz, 3rd place in Prose Interpretation, and 1st place Individual Sweepstakes.
Victoria Cruz won 1st place Dramatic Interpretation, 2nd place in Prose, 2nd in Duo with Ford Brown and 2nd place in Individual Sweepstakes.
Ford Brown took home 1st place in Informative and Impromptu Speaking, 4th place in Prose and 4th in Individual Sweepstakes.
Stephen Walley won 2nd place in Informative, 4th place in Impromptu and 5th place in Prose.
Christian Holt won 1st place in Poetry Interpretation and 3rd place in Dramatic Interpretation.
