The deadline for submissions to Jefferson State’s Wingspan Literary Journal 2022-23 edition is Nov. 1 for poetry, prose, artwork, and photography.
Wingspan accepts submissions from students, faculty, staff, and community members. Written work should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document (no PDFs, please), and art/photography should be submitted as .jpg files. Though there is no theme, work that is spirited in hate, violence, or contains graphic nudity will be rejected.

Submissions can be accepted in both English and Spanish (please include an English translation for Spanish works).

Wingspan’s mission is to bring together a range of poetry, prose, art and photography to produce a magazine that reflects the work and interests of Jefferson State and the communities we serve. Everyone with an interest in literature and the arts is encouraged to submit their work.
Anyone with questions can contact Wingspan Editor Heather Wyatt at [email protected].
Each person whose work is chosen to appear in the magazine is given a free copy of the bound, printed version and invited to present at the spring semester reading, following the publication. Hard copies are available at campus libraries, and electronic versions of previous issues are also available by clicking here.
